It’s The Hap-Happiest Season of All

Today’s post will be a short one. Because, dear readers, words fail in situations like these. You see…Christmas came to Abby Gabs early this year.

See?:

Who needs Santa Claus when you have a husband who actively supports collecting toys?

Here’s the thing, though, readers. You see, last week, I told you all about how our awesome friend, Angie, sent me the coolest Donnie Wahlberg doll ever. After seeing my reaction (ie: SQUEEEEEEE!) Brian decided to add to my collection, and purchased the entire set. All Five Dolls….ALL MINE.

Which means I have 2 Donnies.

Which is sort of like a dream come true.

But you see…I have an extra. Guess what THAT means?!?!?

If you’ve always dreamed of owning your very own authentic Donnie Wahlberg poseable action figure (in the original, unopened box), then this is the giveaway of your dreams! Here’s how we’ll play.

Grand Prize: THE Donnie Wahlberg Poseable Action Figure Doll:

The Rules:Because even games are more fun with them.

#1: Leave me a comment below, telling me about YOUR childhood celebrity crush. If it wasn’t Donnie Wahlberg, was it Donnie Osmond? Zack Morris? Optimus Prime? (No, Brian, you can’t play.) Either way, I’d like to know who it was that you fawned over in a fog of AquaNet.  (This counts as one entry.)

#2: Put up a Facebook post about the giveaway, and leave a separate comment with the link! (This counts as one entry.)

#3: Blog all about it! If you think your readers would have fun playing, let them know in a blog! Leave me a separate comment with a link. (This counts as one entry.)

#4: For a SUPER-DOOPER, DOUBLE-POINTS entry, Tweet this contest and include the Donnie Wahlberg tag! Just link to this post, and make sure you let Donnie know we’re giving his plastic doppelganger a new home by adding @DonnieWahlberg to your tweet! This will get you TWO WHOLE ENTRIES!! Just leave me a separate comment with the link to your tweet. (This counts as two entries.)

The contest will be open for entries for one whole week! I’ll tally up the points and announce the winner next Monday, December 26th! And you’ll have your very own Donnie Wahlberg Poseable Action Figure Before 2012! How cool is that?? Super easy to play! And the prize is sexy AND poseable!! (Can’t ask for more than that, ladies.)

*Author’s note: I’m well aware that you probably have no interest in a Donnie Wahlberg poseable action figure. But who cares! It’ll be fun to play anyway. (Plus, Donnie may see one of your tweets and totally smile at me. Or something else that would be epic blog fodder.)

Ok, you asked for it, so… My 1st crush was Robert Urich (yep) and I was so little, that it is a miracle I still remember, I guess he really made an impact on me… then came the 80’s and even as far away as I was from Boston (living in my hometown Bs As, Argentina)Donnie Wahlberg stole my heart…but I guess you knew that already! so, I’ve never even seen the NKOTB dolls for real, marketing wasn’t as broad back then, and the internet era wasn’t even in diapers…
How do you go from Robert Urich to Donnie Wahlberg, is a mistery even to me, but it’s the whole truth I swear! 🙂

My very first childhood celebrity crush was Corey Hart. But I didn’t really have a crush on him…my friend who was 2 years older than me did, and I just mostly copied everything she did up until the time I was 13. Ha! My favourite New Kid was Joey.

OK, you asked for it, my very first crush was Tony Dorsett, star football player for the Dallas Cowboys (age 4), Then it was Boy George of Culture Club fame (age 6), skipping a head to the Teen years, I had a thing for bad boys so of course DW was my most fave NKOTB-er. And I still love the man to this very day. Seeing them in Boston on the first year of their reunion tour was the highlight of my 30’s so far!!

My first crush was Shaun Cassidy when I was 5 or 6. It lasted about a year, and my walls were covered in posters of him. Then one day I woke up and was totally over him and took them all down. No idea why.

My next crush was Billy Dee Williams, although I think it was really more Lando Calrissian than Billy Dee. Then I moved on to George Lucas himself, a crush that remains to this day. Yup, I’m a geek.

Total Donnie fan over here. Thinking back, I’m pretty sure he was my first major celebrity crush. I finally got to see them live before I turned 30 and all the memories came flooding back.

My celebrity crushes didn’t stop there though. I bought every copy of Bop and Big Bopper and plastered my walls and ceilings with posters 🙂

My first celebrity crush was definitely Donnie Wahlberg, and still is. First for his badboy qualities and now for his smile, sweetness, and overall amazingness! The mallow and abs are kinda great too. Just writing this has me smiling like a 13yr old fool again – and I love it!
FYI 22 years ago this very night I stayed up all night with my sister trying to win New Kids tickets on the radio. I didnt win, and I ended up landing myself in a 3 week grounding for incurring $55 in long distance charges while trying. Ahhh! The things we will do for the 5 bad boys from the Beantown Land 😀
I think its supersweet of you to share one of your Donnie figures with us.
    Merry Christmas Gabby!
